Y for Yellow

Even though the wine in our glasses seems yellow, it is white.

However, a white wine called "vin jaune" or literally "yellow wine" exists.

The yellow wine is made from late harvest Savagnin grapes, a local white variety in the Jura, in the East of France.

It's not only yellow, it's also delicious.

I don't like the yellow or white wine. Red is my color.

You should taste yellow wine Elina. Maybe you would like it.

Was the wine chosen to match the colour of the shirt? :)

hpy a dit…

Nazzareno, c'est au moins la troisième! ;)

hpy a dit…

Liisa, of course it was!

Love the yellow shirt....I'm a red wine drinker myself...in moderation of course ;o)

To me the lamp is yellow and the shirt is certainly yellow-ish, but I certainly wouldn't describe the wine as being yellow - alas my red-green colour-blindness means [like 10% of males] I don't quite see colours and shades the same way as those not afflicted - I'd possibly describe the wine as being a sort of reddish-grey!

Ruth, red is good! But it doesn't go with Y.

A bottle of water for Runee, please!

Grand esprit, ugh!

Olivier, à ta santé.

Thank you David McMahon.

Ackworth, it must be interesting to see the colours in a different way. At least sometimes. Reddish-grey wine!

SusuPetal a dit…

That colour doesn't suit me, makes me look paler than ever.
And yellow wine makes my head ache.
Red doesn't.

But still -it looks delicious!!!!!

hpy a dit…

It's sure, SusuPetal, that your head will ache if you empty the third bottle all by yourself. Even if it's red.

I added a link in French and English to the yellow wine.

"Y" was a hard one. "Yellow" was a good one.

the problem alas is that it isn't "sometimes" but "always" - whilst I think some attempts have been made to show people how things look to those of us who are colour-blind, that fact is we can never be sure that what we see is the same as what others see. In any case we colours by being told that such and such is this or that colour -- it is distinguishing shades that creates the problems.

What a beautiful picture. Is vin jaune sweet? I usually associate late harvest wines with a sweet taste. I love wine. It is fun to learn about and discover new tastes.

Neva, it wasn't me, it was the camera!

Digitalshuttermania, wine is good.

Ackworth, yes, there's a difference between sometimes and always. Always may not be interesting at all.

Mike, yummy yellow wine!

Dot and deb. Thank you

Mick. Do you care for a glass?

Bonnie. No, it's not a sweet wine.

Peter M, lovely win in the glasses.

Happyone, or hpy one?
