I am sorry I can't read this, but we call these shaggy manes and I lvoe to eat them. They are bad to eat with alchol though--that will make you sick.

You may know that already, maybe that's what you said.

I wouldn't eat them with or without alcohol.
No, I was speaking about them looking like Hattifnatts. And you can read about Hattifnatts (even though they may be called by an other name in English) in the Moomin Books written by Tove Jansson.

OH! Why wouldn't you eat them, they are very tasty and delicately flavored, as long as a dog hasn't releived hiself on them. They are very good! But they contain a chemical used to break people of drinking that causes nausea.

I am interested in reading and in books. Is it a (are the) children's book(s)? Mary :-D

They are children's books but I read them over and over again. For me they are also books for adults. Maybe even more so. You can google up Tove Jansson in order to find more information about her and her books. I really recommend them. They have been translated to several languages. The first ones were written in the fifties if I'm not wrong. Tove Jansson was a Finnish artist (writing in Swedish, but that's a compliacted story about a country where you have two official languages) who died in 2001.

Do you eat any wild mushrooms? DO your friends?

If you don't mind saying, where are you located?

I will definitely check out those books! Thanks! :-D

I love chiclren's books, especially those that are good for adults, and if theya re suitable, we will read them to our 12-year-old son. We still read to him every night.

Oh, and of course, shaggy manes are no only edible but delicious--as long as you don't have them with alcohol--do look them up.
