A for Art

The ABC Wednesday finished with Z last week, and today it starts all over again with A for Art.

I noticed this decorated wall near Dieppe. The building is housing a Center for Help through Work. There are hundreds of these centers all over the country, but all do not possess such a wall.

These centers help mentally disabled persons to integrate the society.

In order to have the right to work in one, you have to be at least 20 years old, and have a working capacity of less than a third of that of a valid person.

Sometimes I run into a young man on a bicycle. He's always very polite and happy when he finds someone who's willing to listen. He then talks about his work in the local Center for Help through Work. He's proud about it. It's his healing art.

A very good choice for the letter A - both theme-, text- and picture-wise.

I used art as my theme also and it was on a building too BUT yours is much nicer! What a wonderful scene to pass no matter how you go by that building!

Good subject, good text, good picture... Following the old (Swedish) school noting system, I would attribute you an A!

How creative, to illustrate a house like this. Our house is a large plain cream building...hmmmmm the mind boggles.

Very impressive wall art. We have centres like that here too. They are much needed; gives mentally disabled people self esteem.

I am not sure why there are more buildings like this. I would love to see that around here. Everything is painted white.

Have a Nice Wednesday!

That's a beautiful mural. I'd love to visit Dieppe one day, especially because of it historical significance.

A couple of years ago I photographed the mural in Quebec City, which is amazing!

We have a town near us which is known for its murals. Walls throughout the town depict people and events in local history. The murals are painted by professional artists and each year they have a "mural in a day" project when several artists gather to complete a mural and you can watch them doing it.

Very interesting art.
